Are you a Discipline GODLY MAN? :Join The Book Huddle

                                               The Book Huddle
Where men read a chapter weekly and find ways to apply intentionally and practically.

Are you a Discipline GODLY MAN?

How many times have you promised yourself that you will do better to your body by hitting the gym hard, running the treadmill, or going on a strict diet. How do we get to this? There were some observations we made about our physique either in the mirror or someone mentioned it to us.

Have this been the same for us concerning our spiritual bodies??  Lately you have told yourself “I need to make some devotional time to be consistent with my reading or prayer life”, “I forgot to call that brother back so we can admonish one another in the Lord” or “Why am I so spiritually exhausted.”  Time to time many of us are combating against worldliness, pride, lust, unforgiveness, anxiety, laziness, discontentment, anger, and many other disciplines: all these fall under our sinful state and human depravity in which we fight with daily.

If we are honest with ourselves we are spiritually out of shape. We have been living daily consumed by our strength, skill, and success. This causes us to carry the weight and burdens of our life and others. Unfortunately, we do this to ourselves unintentionally, how? It is not because of our habitual practices and life priorities within the world. It is not because the culture and influences that surrounds us.  It is because we fail to intentionally apply God’s revealed word assertively to our hearts daily.

According to Proverbs 3:5-6, we fail to trust in the Lord with ALL our Heart,  we also lean on our own understanding at times. There are even times when we acknowledge more of our circumstances than Him which result in being spiritually tired and exhausted going our own way.

God is promising not only spiritual but physical well-being for those who live wisely according to His will: “it will be healing to your body and refreshment to your bones (Pr 3:8).”  Such physical well-being is forfeited when we begin to sin against our Lord. Toning up the spiritual body is here. When are our desires and passions become a  pleasure to seek and glorify Him for total satisfaction.

Beloved brothers, we have no excuse to wander from our Lord and as to why we are either spiritually fat or malnourished.  Nothing shall be master over you ( 1 Cor 6:12).  Let’s raise the bar, knock out those areas where we fall short or fail in accomplishing our desired goal to get into spiritual shape. Exercise self-control in all things and put the body under subjection ( 1 Cor 9:24-27), and discipline ourselves for the purpose of GODLINESS!!! ( 1 Tim 4:6-10).

There is a desperate demand for Godly MAN, and it is essential that we begin to take responsibility to be sons who have genuine faith and sons who are obsessively obedient to our Heavenly Father, the Lord Jesus Christ.
