It has been awhile since I have been able to be present with you all at the RoundTable. This past week has been refreshing. I hope it has been the same for you all. I received a visit from (Dayton, Ohio) the men who have fathered, groomed, and trained me before I moved to L.A. They were here for "The Inerrant Summit at the Masters Seminary (Grace Community Church). This conference hosted est. of 5,000 men across the world who gathered together for the word of God.

The reason I share this, because before they arrived this past year it has been a busy, challenging, and a trying time. Why? With a heavy schedule and jammed packed obligations life can be a bit overwhelming and exhausting. For some of us, there seems to be enough time to earnestly seek other things instead of God's presence. How does this happen to us? We fail to rest! What do I mean by this?

It is one of the most important disciplines in our Christian walk. We must
get away from the world —find a place of solitude, a time for meditation, when you are able to exhale, breathe and turn everything down. If you're thinking about it, dont be hesitant to turn everything off. In your mind there must be a
place of quietness and humbling all matters of your life before the mighty hand of God. This is what helps us gain wisdom, patience, discernment, understanding and learn what is pleasing to the Lord rather than men. Brothers, We must ask ourselves how often are we searching for the Lord in the very activities we are performing.
Are we making it a practice and habit to be still and know that He is God?
There is so much stress and pressure from daily demands; we cannot
ignore our responsibilities; therefore, we find ourselves moving rapidly
thinking so many things while in the process of learning and reflecting----
this can be an exhaustive and strenuous habit----Overwhelmed and consumed by
such circumstances places a heavy burden on the heart that can draw away strength
from our soul.
When we find ourselves in such positions we must cast our
cares, come to Christ, and lay our burdens upon Him. Trusting and relying on the
Spirit and grace of God. This does not
mean to remove from doing anything, but to do all that you can and leave the
rest to Him. He commanded us not to worry or be so concern about yourself. Thinking over and over "what I'm going to do" "what I'm going to do."
As
the night falls the day arises there are more problems that awaits us
tomorrow so take refuge in Him, seek earnestly after His ways where you stand,
pour your heart out to Him, cry for His help –He will hear you, He will hear
you, He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Why is this true?
Lets us examine A man after Gods own heart ----
Psalm 63:1
O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly;
My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You,
In a dry and weary land where there is no water.
Psalm 63 places us in a time when David was in the wilderness of Judah. In spite of the uncomfortable environment or unpleasant conditions he has found his resting place; He is expressing his deep love for the Lord. David is going through a trial being spiritually drained and physically exhausted from running and hiding from the threatening and pressing circumstances in his life. David was thinking about what was externally happening; In an hour when David might have been discouraged , he was excited about God, and in a place where there was no sanctuary or priestly ministry, David reached out by faith and received new strength from the Lord. He channeled his mind to reflect on what God was doing and remembered what he has done.
Psalm 63 displays how we can exercise such confidence when under trials. David's wilderness experience was transformed into a worship experience. It is apparent that he never allowed himself to be so far overcome by external pressures, as to cease lifting up his prayers to heaven, and even resting, with a firm and constant faith, upon the divine promises.
As we see David expresses strong emphasis toward the word "Earnestly" this is important for us to grasp a firm understanding that David was serious in intention, purpose, or effort both morning and evening; sincerely zealous: showing depth and sincerity of feeling: implies having a purpose and being steadily and soberly eager in pursuing the ways and thoughts of the Lord. ( His Word) . God's covenant love is more valuable to David than life itself.
It is not wrong for us to be highly ambition and zealous, but do we possess an earnest attitude to long after God's Word or do we wait only for Sunday or a week day bible study to express such love and desire for the Lord. What life does to us depends on what life finds in us, and David had seen God's power in his house and he was able to see it in the wilderness.
Apt as we are, when assaulted by the very slightest trials, to lose the comfort of any knowledge of God we may previously have possessed, it is necessary that we should notice this, and learn, by David 's example, to struggle to maintain our confidence under the worst troubles that can befall us. He does more than simply pray; he sets the Lord before him as his God, that he may throw all his cares unhesitatingly upon him, deserted as he was of a man, and a poor outcast in the waste and howling wilderness. David was not passive in his devotion, for he continued to cling to the Lord and REST in the safety of His right hand.

How did David acquire this worship attitude?
Do you share the same eagerness to be with the LORD?
